Privacy Policy
Overview
I don't want your Cookies is a Chrome extension that automatically finds and clicks reject / decline / “necessary only” controls on cookie consent banners. It does not collect, store, or transmit personal information to any backend operated by us.
Data Collection
We do not operate analytics, telemetry, advertising identifiers, user accounts, or remote logging for this extension. There is no server that receives browsing data from the extension.
Local Storage
The following preferences are stored locally in your browser using
chrome.storage.local:
- Global enabled / disabled state
- Per-host pause list
- Local counters (banners rejected today / all time)
This data remains on your device. Clearing extension data or uninstalling removes it.
How the Extension Works
A content script runs on pages you visit and looks for common consent-management UI (known selectors and multilingual button labels such as Reject, Decline, Only necessary). When a match is found, the extension simulates a click on that control in your browser tab. If a banner remains, the extension may hide it locally as a last resort. No page content is uploaded.
Permissions
- storage — saves local preferences and counters
- activeTab — reads the active tab host so the popup can pause the current site
- Host access (<all_urls>) — required so the reject script can run on consent banners that appear on arbitrary websites
Children's Privacy
This extension is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
